Doorway Widening and Wheelchair Ramp Addition — Aloha, Oregon

Homer

Project: Homer is a senior citizen in Aloha. He has difficulty with walking due to chronic pain. Both he and his wife have safety issues within the home because of their mobility problems.

ReFIT widened three doors so that Homer would be able to move within the house in his motorized wheelchair. Also, grab bars were installed in the main bathroom to help he and his wife feel safe and secure when getting into the shower.

It was difficult to get into the house with the wheelchair so we added a ramp and also a concrete walkway so that Homer could have easy clear access from the rear of the house to the front.

Result: The project we completed has made it easier for Homer and his wife to navigate both inside and outside of their home.
